An edible piece of Maya culture. The Maya are the forefathers of chocolate culture. There are only very few of them left in Belize, but they are still cultivating cocoa. We visited them and were in awe of the absolutely unique cocoa legacy they are preserving. Experience a single origin chocolate with 82% cocoa content – a piece of authentic chocolate history. The initially developing fragrance of dried plums and cherries is mild and might give a slightly reserved first impression, but if you try this chocolate slowly, with its strong roast yet barely bitter taste, you’ll be surprised by its wide flavor spectrum. It starts with a lingering nutty nougat aroma, slightly enveloped by cream and caramel, before being joined by a mild spiciness with an elegant fruity note. After initial hints of lingonberry and plum, the chocolate’s fruity bouquet develops into an appealing sour cherry aroma.
