In 2013, Ulrika & Fredrik Bergenkrans purchased the old village school from 1893 in Österlen. and founded the chocolate company Svenska Kakao, which became one of the pioneers of bean to bar chocolate in Sweden. Even today, it is unique to manufacture chocolate from cocoa beans in Sweden and only a handful of manufacturers exist in the Nordic countries. Ulrika & Fredrik travel around the world to select the very best cocoa for their chocolate, chosen with care for exceptional quality, sustainability, transparency, fair pricing and taste. With a small team of skilled chocolatiers, everything is made from scratch in the small factory in Österlen.
