Soklet is India's first and only tree-to-bar chocolate maker. Karthikeyan Palaisamy and Harish Manoj Kumar and their family grow their cacao on the family's 160-acre Regal Plantation. They manage every step of the process, from growing cacao trees (a mix of Amelanado, Trinitario and Criollo varieties) and fermenting the beans to roasting, grinding, and tempering the finished chocolate bars on-site. They are committed to growing cacao sustainably as an intercrop using both permaculture and vermiculture methods without any synthetic pesticides. Soklet is a variation of the Tamil word for chocolate.
