Ocelot's chocolate supplier and sister company, Original Beans, works to ensure the cocoa farmers are paid a 100% living income and given resources to produce healthy, high quality cocoa while protecting the environment and communities around them. Of the 2,944 farmers schooled in 2023, 40% are women. The organic chocolate is from beans grown in Virunga National park, Africa's oldest nature reserve and the home of the last Mountain Gorillas. There, the farmers work to protect the gorillas and their precious habitat. The beans create a chocolate with the rich and tart flavors of dark fruits, earthy forest floor, and smoky tobacco.
