Dar Chocolate

A few years ago, co-founders, Gila and Joel Dar condensed their lives into a few suitcases and headed to California. Call it fate, divine intervention, or just a fluke: something came up which made them change course and go to Costa Rica instead. Little did they know that they would meet their destiny there. Gila and Joel visited cocoa farms, met chocolate makers who work in different techniques and styles, and learned how to make hand-crafted chocolate. They knew they needed the perfect name for their company, and DAR (the couple's last name) Chocolate was a natural choice. Funnily enough, the word "dar" has positive, chocolate-related meanings in various languages: "house, haven" in Arabic, "to dwell/mother of pearl" in Hebrew, "to give" in Spanish, and "a gift" in Polish.
